Kim with 2008 HC Queen Ilse Zuniga Walton!Homecoming week 10-12-16-2009 was a fantastic week. The most magical part of the event was that I became a part of the 2009 HC Court along with many fantastic candidates. During that week, I got to enjoy the many activities that led up to HC Game againstg Utah. The fun I had that week from the kick off that began with the window painting contest as well as a candidate for Most Spirited Rebel, then moved to the HC Court announcement and later that evening the campfire smore social. Also during that week, we had the HC Game show Bonk which was alot of fun as well as entertaining, as well as Rebel Variety Show. Although during that week I accidently injured my head with a steel baseball bat which was a fluke accident, I had to sit out the for the remaining events leading up to the game. Although everything is ok, I had an adventureous week and had alot of fun. The best part of HC was the parade and HC Court taking center stage on the football field at halftime. It was a once in a lifetime event that changed my life forever. I will always remember this day and what a wonderful time I had. As a reperesentative from Spectrum, I was very proud of myself to come out to evryone being who I really am inside. As the first transgender HC Court member, I felt that I had made a difference to our community not only as a trans person but to set a precednece for future generations to come. In a world that expects eveyone to conform and be perfect, it is ok to be yourself! Once you are honest with yourself, others will notice and see the same.
